Happy Retirement, Rod!

Published: June 7th, 2013

Life, as we know it at Hopkins Carpet One, has changed forever without the wit and wisdom of Rodney Wedlund. We want to thank him for over 30 years of devoted work!

Hopkins Carpet One began its life as Cheap Carpet in June 1980, when owner Dan Tillman hired Rod to oversee the installers and to begin selling flooring to homes in Hopkins, Edina, Minnetonka and St Louis Park.

Between the two of them, they have seen styles & trends come and go in carpeting, hardwood, laminate and now the latest in luxury vinyl flooring. Two things have remained a constant in purchasing from Hopkins Carpet One: excellent customer service, and the desire to provide the best flooring for each home we install.

Rodney Wedlund of Hopkins Carpet One

Rodney Wedlund retired from Hopkins Carpet One this year after 30 years.

Excellent customer service is natural for Rodney because of his genuine interest in each customer and years of product knowledge. He has many customers who have moved from home to home, and they have return to Rodney and Hopkins Carpet One to install new flooring and to make sure their investment will add value to their home for many years.

Hopkins Carpet One wants to extend our warmest wishes for Rodney as he begins retirement this summer. Although he will no longer work full time, we are all happy to know that he will be available to our independent flooring store, so you might see him closing the store during the week or working a busy Saturday this summer.

We are not ready to let him go too easily. If you know Rodney, then you know how fun it is to work with him. So please stop into Hopkins Carpet One to meet Rodney, Dan, Mark and Jean. Our goal is to continue providing the customer experience Rodney began over three decades ago.

Cheers to Rodney!
