We’ve been in the flooring industry for more than 30 years. In that time, we’ve seen many changes. Flooring manufacturers continue to push the envelope with new technology. One of the most recent advancements in the flooring industry is rigid core. We believe this is the next generation of flooring!
What is rigid core?
Rigid core flooring, also known as vinyl composite core, combines the best features of both laminate and luxury vinyl. The boards are rigid planks with a joint system that clicks together like laminate, but they are constructed from a water-resistant vinyl composite material that gives them the “install it anywhere” flexibility of vinyl flooring.
What are the benefits of rigid core flooring?
Rigid core flooring is made to withstand heavy use. It’s strong core allows it to have greater indentation resistance than other luxury vinyl. The flooring is also enhanced with protective polyurethane allowing it to resist scratches and dents.
Water won’t penetrate rigid core flooring! Liquids bead up on top, allowing you to mop it up and prevent any damage or staining.
- Easy Installation
Rigid core flooring requires much less floor prep than other types of flooring. It has the ability to hide subfloor imperfections. The planks easily click together and can be cut with a utility knife. It’s an easy installation for either a professional or an avid do-it-yourselfer.
- Dimensional Stability
With it’s unique core design, rigid core flooring provides flexibility to adjust to tight spaces while maintaining the necessary rigidity to allow for use over imperfect floors.
Where can it be used?
Rigid core flooring is a great option for both residential and commercial spaces. Due to its durability and resistance to indentation, this flooring is ideal for commercial spaces with high foot traffic and active homes. It can stand the abuse of daily wear and tear while still looking great.
